Australian Opal Buying Guide

We love the color range of Australian Opal Direct . It is a very special stone that can display any color in the spectrum. We appreciate all varieties and carefully select which stone will look best set into a given piece. The type of setting will determine the quality of the stone we use; lower grade opal for silver and good stuff for gold or platinum settings.Of this, 2% is boulder opal, which makes it the most prized and expensive. Opal is found in small deposits in several different US states; Idaho, Arizona and Nevada. Mexico produces a type of transparent opal often referred to as "fire" opal, which is a different grade of opaque stone without the play of color you see in Australian opal. We prefer Australian opal for its depth and unique appearance.

The bright, shiny pieces of opal you see in most fine jewelry are opal doublets, thin sheets of opal that have been covered with opal or another material. This achieves the bright iridescence commonly seen in opal jewelry with less material. This type of opal has a much lower price than a boulder. Opal doublets are a real eye-catcher and the best value for money. The third step down would be a triplet, which is a doublet with another clear material across the top of the piece, such a quartz. This layer helps protect the stone, but is usually reserved for lower quality galaxy opal.

Flashes of red or yellow that seem to dance beneath the surface and give the stone a layered effect. The best specimens can be light or dark in color, but will have a depth of color that sets them apart from cheaper stones. Better stones have more red and yellow throughout the stone and you want to look at the stone from all sides to see how the colors play in the light. Higher quality stones will have an iridescence from every angle. We love using opal in our handcrafted Asheville jewelry.

Australian opal rings for women have some of the most unique properties of any colored gemstone available. We hope you enjoy opal in all its forms and find a place for this beautiful stone in your collection.

Opal Ruby Ring: Gorgeous and elegant

Every woman keeps a piece of Australian Opal Direct to enhance herself in everyday life as well as on special occasions. A ring is one of these pieces of jewelry and it symbolizes many things. There are friendship rings, engagement rings, wedding rings, and even those that you can simply wear regularly as part of your fashion style, but they are most often used in marriage. In my case, I collect them and I have one interesting piece and that is an opal ruby ring.

Various precious galaxy opal such as emerald, pearl, diamond and ruby are attached to the copper, silver and gold metal parts to add more significance to the item. However, the prices also vary from the most affordable to the most expensive. I myself buy these accessories to look good, but I don't think it's a good idea at all.

It doesn't matter if you are suspicious or not, but there is no harm in believing. I find that these gemstone rings communicate many things. Like most of you, I was skeptical at first, but from my personal experience with this opal ruby ring, I felt certain things that seem strange. These jewels are said to contain energy that creates an aura that reveals what is going on inside you. Since ancient times, these gems in a ring, bracelet or necklace have been believed to bring good luck to those who believe in and wear them.

When choosing a ring with a gemstone, its zodiac sign should be taken into account. Basically, they are believed to help a person achieve success, fight disease, give energy, relieve worries and fulfill their destiny. However, if you wear a gemstone different from your birthstone, it can bring misfortune and other negative things not only to you but also to other family members.

On the lighter side, I'm a Libra, so the one I use is an opal gemstone. Ruby adds more charm to my opal ring. I think it's better than diamonds. Not only am I wearing my own gem, but I've given it some flair and it suits me perfectly. You can also have two gemstones in your ring if one is your birthstone and the other just adds more glamor for beauty purposes. I am disease free and always feel strong and safe whenever I wear it. I am also more lively and positive and ready to face new challenges every day. Some would probably say it's purely psychological, but like I said, there's no harm in believing and I'm thankful for my opal ruby ring.

Your special natural stone bracelet

When shopping from an Australian Opal Direct, you need to keep in mind that not all bracelets are created equal. There are a few important things to keep in mind to ensure you get the best bracelet for your money. Here we will talk a little about them.

Many of the galaxy opal have some of the same defining values. The birthstones for January, February, May, July, August, September, November and December are (in that order) garnet, amethyst, emerald, ruby, peridot, sapphire, topaz and zircon. These stones should not be opaque, but may be slightly translucent.

You want to pick up a stone opal bracelet that contains stones that are free of streaks and marks. A stone bracelet for the month of March should be made of bloodstone, multi-colored, opaque stone. The stone should be extremely smooth to the touch.

April is the diamond month. Of course, a stone bracelet made of diamonds is worth more than the more expensive bracelets that you will come across, because diamonds are so sought after. Although diamonds are used in many other pieces of jewelry, the quality of the stone bracelet should not be substandard.

Clear, colorless, and pristine diamonds are the most valuable form of the stone, but other colors also exist. Clear diamonds are always more valuable than those with a yellow and cloudy appearance, but although they may have a little less beauty, these stones are still quite valuable and have great appeal. A unique idea when it comes to diamonds is the colored diamond. There are even some colors that are unique to certain diamonds, which of course only adds to the value and beauty.

Pearls are the stone of June. The purer the color, the rounder the shape, the greater the value of the pearls. For a stone bracelet, the pearls are usually in more than one setting. When this happens, the pearls should all be perfectly matched in the bracelet for uniform and pallor.

A natural stone bracelet for October should consist of either opal or pink tourmaline. These can be stiff fines as many jewelers won't stock pink tourmaline, but opal is a beautiful stone and you can't go wrong with it. The precious opal has many beautiful colors on its surface. There are two different kinds of opals (the white kind and the black kind), but the white kind is usually the one used in the October bracelet.

In many jewelry stores, you will find an informed and useful item to satisfy your every whim. Many times they are the actual owners of the stores unless the stores themselves are national chains. And always ask if you're not sure about something. If you don't see what you're looking for in their cases, they can help you find exactly what you're looking for.

Masterpiece: A stunning ring with an opal inlay

An exceptionally impressive opal for sale with opal inlay can be skillfully made by a jeweler. In general, black opal and crystal opal earrings stud are popular artists. It can also choose to have tanzanite, diamonds or other gemstones set in the metal setting of your choice. Of course, his designs will vary depending on what is stylish or if clients request custom designs.

Some manufacturers offer after-sales services such as repair and re-polishing of opal inserts. Collectors and consumers should be excited as most manufacturers adapt their workmanship and service to meet our needs for quality and creativity in our jewelry.

If you're really lucky, you can find a really great opal earrings stud maker who can create a design that looks much more and its true value. There are designs that only he can create. Try as you might, chances are you'll see a similar design but at a much higher and more expensive price.

I am so happy to have owned this band ring for many years. This ring attracts so much admiration with its inlaid Peruvian blue opal, accented with sparkling diamonds; the overall design is that the ring is in a twisted pattern. I find the environment very unusual and extremely beautiful. Only occasionally can I tear my eyes away from my finger. By the way, I found it best (well, I read somewhere) to wear this on my right hand. It makes more sense than what the experts say.

But one thing my opals earrings stud reminded me, even annoyed me, was to remember that opal is a fragile gemstone. So I have to take care of it: no accidental dropping, no wearing it when I'm gardening, no frequent contact with my makeup. Of course, cleaning with harsh chemicals or storing with harder stones is a big no-no.

It took my entire salary to buy this ring, so I'm definitely following his advice. I was especially convinced that I followed his advice when I recently noticed that a Peruvian blue inlaid opal turned a dark blue like the sea when I wore a blue dress to a company Christmas party.

It also made me think that if I continue to treat it well, treat it with care, I will be able to pass it on to my children to appreciate. If opal rings are currently popular as engagement rings, they are certainly suitable as heirlooms as well.

A selection of earrings that are modern yet casual

Most women shy away from big, funky opal earrings studs  for fear of drawing too much attention to themselves, but earrings appeal to women of all shapes, sizes, ages, and styles. Anyone can list opals for sale, large or small. If you're conservative, you can go for small diamond studs, and if you want to stand out in the crowd, you can go for big, bright pink feather earrings a la Gwyneth Paltrow.

No matter what opals for sale  you choose, you're sure to end up with a pair that complements your look and your outfit. Earrings are never overly ostentatious, and unlike bracelets, they don't get in the way of your work. Choosing earrings that are both trendy and casual can be a challenging task. You're looking for earrings that aren't too buttoned up (you don't necessarily want something your mom would wear), but you also don't want to look too crazy.

How do you find rose gold opal engagement rings  that strike the perfect balance, hip enough to look like you're paying attention to trends, but casual enough to go from the office to dinner at your favorite Mexican restaurant or to dance with the girls? This article is here to help you make the right decision when it comes to choosing earrings that are hip but casual.

Sometimes simple is best – like when you're looking for basic diamond studs. But sometimes you want simple with a little extra flair. Enter a pair of rose gold triple strand hoop earrings. Hoops are the basic shape of earrings, so they fit perfectly into the "hip but casual" shape. That being said, the added bonus of rose gold (a beautiful rose gold that is much more exciting than basic and boring gold or silver) and triple strands elevate these earrings to seriously fashionable. They're pretty basic with a white t-shirt and jeans, but would look just as good with a little black dress out on the town. A great buy because you can easily rationalize the price by thinking about how often you'll be able to wear them - with almost anything!

Speaking of hoops, colored gemstone hoops are also a great hip but casual option. Hoops are quite casual by nature – the bigger they are, the more casual they are. But sometimes it's fun to swap gold and silver for a little color. Precious stones are very much in fashion right now, so why not combine these two trends together and grab some precious stone rings? These colorful and playful earrings are crafted from sterling silver and feature 20 round brilliant-cut gemstones in a vibrant turquoise hue. They would look gorgeous on tanned skin and even better with a long white maxi dress.

There's no need to keep it simple with diamond studs when you can wear beautiful and colorful flower earrings that are made of multi-colored gemstones. These earrings reflect light, draw attention to your face, and are casual enough to wear on a day of running errands. They can easily go from day to night, depending on the hairstyle they are paired with, and are great for the office or a day at home. Crafted in platinum or yellow vermilion on sterling silver, each earring boasts one pear cut apatite, one pear cut African amethyst, one pear cut citrine, one pear cut fire opal, pink rhodolite, peridot, garnet and tanzanite. . You have a full set of gems in each ear!

If you're looking for serious rock star status, you'll love a pair of 14-carat mocha diamond hoop earrings. These small hoops offer a slightly serious look, but are small enough not to look over the top, so they're still casual enough to wear to the office or out to dinner. That being said, they would never look out of place at a dance club or black tie affair. Crafted from rhodium-plated 14k yellow gold, each earring boasts 150 single round cut mocha diamonds, each set on a tip. Talk about class!

If you're going for something really simple, step out of your comfort zone a little with a pair of twisted gold earrings. They're classic and casual, but their cool twisted shape and brilliant gold finish make them seriously fashionable earrings. They are perfect with a little black dress, but also with jeans and a t-shirt. No matter what you wear them with, you'll look like a girl who embodies modern yet casual fashion.

Types of opals - which one is ideal for which type of opal jewellery?

Blue fire opals are striking gemstones that flash all the colors of the rainbow. They are made of small spheres of hydrated silica; silica is the component of sand that makes sand! As they form, tiny water droplets are trapped in a grid of spheres in an irregular pattern. The water bends the light passing through the gem, resulting in the magical play of colors, known as opalescence, that this gem is known for!

However, not all opals are created equal! There are four broad categories of opal, white, black, boulder and crystal, which differ in their translucency and the color of the host rock. They also show varying levels of opalescence. And although fashion dictates the changing popularity of individual types of opals, certain types of opals are more suited to some forms of opal jewelry than others. So which form goes best with which piece of jewelry?

They have a milky white appearance that can range from almost opaque to translucent. The more milky the background of the host rock, the harder it is to see the flashes of fiery opalescence within. Their beauty is best seen in strong direct light. Their pale appearance and relative affordability means they are often set as cabochons in silver metal for everyday jewellery.

Black opal necklace silvers  are the rarest, most sought after and most expensive form of gemstone. The dark host rock is usually black, blue, brown or gray and provides the perfect background against which to see the gorgeous color display of these gems. They have the appearance of an angry storm cloud behind a rainbow.

They are usually set as cabochons. And they're dramatic enough to hold their own alongside diamonds in statement jewelry, such as a gorgeous anniversary pendant or engagement ring.

Boulder opals are always cut with a portion of the host rock attached. They are typically set in jewelry as thin segments or as baroque stone shapes. They are unusual and extremely attractive pieces that will attract comments and admiring glances! They cannot be easily set into rings, but they make wonderful pendant necklaces.

Crystalline opal types, such as fire opals, are transparent and usually have good clarity that allows strong diffracted color to be seen. This is the only category of gemstone that is usually faceted before being set into jewelry. Fire opals have little opalescence, but are valued for their color instead. They make beautiful rings, earrings and pendants.

October means opals!

The month of October is full of many wonderful things. The end of the month brings numerous holidays that celebrate the culturally unanimous time of year when spirits can return to earth, whether for positive or negative reasons - Halloween, Samhain, La Dia de los Muertos. It's also a very beautiful month to connect with birthdays, as harvests and outdoor gatherings abound in an attempt to enjoy the last bit of warm, sunny weather before things quickly descend into the clouds and chill associated with late fall and winter, and because of the October opal necklace silver. This month's uniqueness is epitomised by its association with October's birthstone, purple opal, as the mysterious gemstone, which comes in a variety of shades and colors with a milky yet shimmering sheen, is also special.

Opal jewelry birthday gift ideas for those born in October are always a big hit because opals have an unprecedented luxury to them, and opal jewelry in general is the perfect accessory when you're trying to show off your personal style and class, if you want a special gift . for you! Opal earrings are always the first thing that comes to the mind of fashion-conscious people, because the gemstone itself, with its commonly rounded or oval shapes, is ideal for earrings - especially small, medium or even larger sized puzets. They help frame the face in a way that gives a subtle glow more than bold glitters and colors that change shades with different angles and light. The natural, or at least easily created, round shapes also mean that opal rings are a big fashion hit.

Worn as a fashion accessory, an opal ring really looks good on the thumb or index finger, as this gemstone can be large without completely draining your wallet and life savings at the same time. However, you should not underestimate other opal jewelry. Opal pendants (either on a gold or silver chain) look great when you're going for a more business casual look, as they can dress up your outfit without overdoing it. When you're looking for something to wear on your wrist, opal bracelets are beautiful, especially when they're strung together as a series of opals. Just have fun finding these special jewels!

Rings with precious stones and diamonds are universal gifts

Is it a birthstone? Is it a black opal direct? Does it mean anything? Is it just for fashion? The answer to all of them is yes.

Peridot and diamond rings are a twist on the traditional opal and diamond ring for August and anyone can have the same look with their own stone. There's no rule that says a gemstone ring can't be adorned with some sparkling diamonds to contrast with ruby red, emerald green or deep ocean blue.

Of course, it could just be the combination of color and glitter that caught her eye and she had to have it. Emerald rings can have such an effect on someone whether their birthday is in May or April. There may be no rhyme or reason to gemstones and rings other than they are simply beautiful.

Fashion rings are hot right now and these styles fall into that category. Alternating the colored stone with the diamond, clustered pieces, retro shapes like large flowers or butterflies are all popular ways to design an amethyst diamond or other pieces.

But sapphire rings can also have a deep meaning. It could be to celebrate a 5th, 45th or even 70th wedding anniversary. Now that would be a major milestone and definitely worth celebrating!

Another emerging trend is the use of combined stones in wedding sets. Ruby rings are a popular twist on the traditional wedding ring. The engagement ring even deviates from the traditional diamond solitaire to a colored stone. Anything goes these days!

Caring for these precious pieces

Since different gemstones are mixed together, it is important to know which is the most delicate and follow the cleaning instructions for that one. Diamond can handle pretty much anything, but it is the strongest stone by which all others are measured.

Some stones like opal are delicate and should never be placed in cleaning solutions. Others have been treated with either heat, radiation, or oils and other substances to achieve the most desirable color. Chemicals and changes in temperature can damage the stone as well as the finish, so always ask a jeweler before cleaning or take it in to make sure there is no damage.

This style can go to the next level and combine three different gems or four; There really is no limit to what jewelry designers can do with diamonds and colored gemstones. Because they are so versatile in meaning and fashion, they are the perfect addition to any wardrobe. Everyone needs a few diamonds in their life, but shake things up by adding other stones to contrast the brilliant sparkle of a classic stone.

Opals - fire and beauty: What to look out for when buying opal jewelry

Australian Opals are legendary! These beautiful gems have been popular since ancient times for their beautiful play of colors and their opalescence, but these stones also had a reputation for being unlucky. so why is that? I want to explain a little more about this wonderful gem that is a particular favorite of mine!

Even the name refers to beauty as it means "gem" and comes from Latin "Opalus" or Sanskrit "upalas".It also appears as a zodiac stone for those born under virgo, libra and scorpio and is a 13th wedding anniversary stone. Depends if you consider the number 13 unlucky I suppose!

Most quality opal prices are mined in Australia. Opals are formed from liquid silica that flowed into a gap or cavity and cooled, resulting in some very unusual shapes such as wood, seashells and even dinosaur bones! This also means that opals have a fairly high water content, around 10%. For this reason, they should never be allowed to dry out. Be especially careful around central heating radiators or direct sunlight. When not being worn, it is best to keep them in a jewelry box or case. Even detergents can affect them, so don't wash them while wearing them! Not every opal is a gem, but those that are often need to be treated to make them more attractive and also to protect them from drying out. Opal stones can be man-made (either synthesized or altered in some way) and thus many types of opal can be found that are artificially produced. Therefore, you need to be careful when choosing opal stone jewelry. Artificial opals are sometimes called doublets or triplets. A doublet is a paper-thin slice of genuine opal glued to a black base, such as a piece of black onyx stone. Triplets are essentially doublets with a clear glass or quartz cap and a plastic or stone back. A double opal is more valuable than a triplet because it contains more stone. Triplets are good because they are cheaper than full stone while still looking very attractive at a fraction of the price. Silver necklaces probably go best with it. Jewelery often contains triplets.

Opal is a stone of protection, loyalty and faithfulness. It is said to be able to improve super sharp eyesight and creativity. They are mystical gems of high vibrations. As such, they can have a wide range of applications on the physical as well as on higher levels of existence. Some say opal is able to absorb thoughts and feelings, amplify them and send them back to their source. It is connected to the eye.

It was believed that the opal could bestow the power of invisibility on its wearer - thus it gained a bad reputation as an amulet for thieves. In the Middle Ages, opal was generally frowned upon due to its resemblance to the eyes of certain "evil" animals. So this beautiful stone inspired the fear of the "Evil Eye". Others, such as the Romans, believed it provided protection from him, so make of that what you will! In my opinion it is a shame to let superstition stop you from enjoying this beautiful stone, so why not check out my website where there are beautiful examples for sale from selected dealers.

Gold Types

Opal - Gem of Ancient Fantasy

Just like fantasy, opal bracelet has the magical power to show you all the colors of the rainbow in a single glance. Opal reflects a multitude of colors that give the impression that you are looking at the colors of the rainbow up close. It can captivate and must be seen to be admired. It is the stone of those born in October and is symbolic of many ancient beliefs. However, whichever belief makes you happiest, there is no doubt that opal is a gem that cannot fail to impress and will form a valuable part of any jewelry collection.

Hailing from various parts of the world – such as Australia, Nevada and the former Czechoslovakia – it has had a checkered history from gem lovers to those who thought it had darker origins. Belief about the opal is full!

The black opal stud earrings, which reflects the most brilliant colors, is the most valuable of all. Those that do not reflect color display are not included in this classification. They are fire, pig and blue-green opal. One other amazing thing about opals is that they contain anywhere from 3 to 10% of their full weight in water!

Showcasing a rainbow of colors, the opal gemstone is truly the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, as its iridescence makes it one of the rarest stones in the world today. It is now a popular choice for gem collectors and fine jewelry lovers around the world. to believe that opals fell from the sky. As popular as it was, opal lost some of its "magic" when a widely read novel presented opal as an unlucky stone. But the stigma did not last and the opal regained its popularity among collectors and perhaps every gem lover.

How to choose the perfect opal rings

Opal earrings are one of the most spectacular forms of blue fire opal. Throughout the ages, they have been prized for their breathtaking opalescence and dramatic array of color flashes. They were considered good luck charms capable of bestowing upon the wearer many powers, including beauty, success, and good fortune, as well as powers of prophecy and foresight. And they also symbolise hope and purity. But it is their beauty that makes opal rings perfect gifts.

When looking for the best purple opal, you must first focus on finding the ideal gemstone for the top. This can be quite difficult as there is a wide variety of gemstone types, but whether you choose black, white, boulder, fire, jelly or any other opal, the most important thing you should look for is the glow of inner fire.

Like diamonds, opals are graded in four ways based on their pattern, color, shape and clarity. Apart from clarity, which must be good, these ratings are essentially descriptive classifications that can be interpreted subjectively. After all, everyone chooses a different shaped stone with different opalescence colors and patterns for their favorite! But all the best opals have strong and striking plays of color. Precious stones with poor clarity and weak color plays do not make attractive rings.

Some opals show a wide range of colors including blues, greens, purples, and flashes of orange-red and pink. And while many people believe that the best gemstones have the widest range of color play, again this is very subjective. That said, you might prefer gems with bold blues and greens over one that has lots of color but no life.

And if you're choosing an opal ring for someone else, say for an engagement, try choosing a gemstone that incorporates their favorite colors into your color play.

The best opal rings have high domed cabochon gems in their center to maximize the color and make the most of its clarity. Excellent clarity is important as any sand particles present can destroy the opalescence of the gemstone and thus the appearance of the ring.

Once you've found your perfect opal, make sure it's beautifully set in a quality precious metal. The ring will look best if you choose a metal color that matches the base color of the gemstone. Black opal rings always look best when set in white gold, silver or platinum, but white and boulder opals can look fabulous in white or yellow metal, depending on the color play of the gem itself.

Finding the perfect opal for your ring can take a lot of effort. However, the end result is worth it!

Caring for Opal Diamond Rings

When it comes to white gold opal rings, diamonds may be the most popular choice, but they are far from the only one. Most ring designers will offer potential brides and grooms a variety of stone options to decorate their band with, allowing those on a budget and those who want a more original ring to walk away happy.

However, there is one type of stone that many engagement ring designers will vehemently warn their customers against, and that is the opal. This isn't because opal wouldn't make a stunning ring stone, because it does, but simply because, like most gemstones.

For example, most Australian opal  designers know that opal is extremely fragile and breakable, which is in stark contrast to even a standard diamond. Because of this, this type of gemstone is definitely not recommended for people with an active lifestyle. Neglecting to remove the opal ring before beginning any slightly more demanding activity will almost certainly result in the black opal direct cracking or taking on a rough appearance.

Similarly, opal is extremely sensitive to heat, which can also pose a problem for brides and grooms who want to have one of these stones in their ring. Additionally, these stones should not be subject to sudden changes in temperature and can be affected by something as simple as stepping out of a centrally heated home into a freezing winter day. For these reasons and more, engagement ring designers try to discourage their customers from getting opals as much as possible.

However, braver souls who feel they can rise to the challenge of having one of these stones on their engagement ring will need to take a number of special precautions to ensure the maintenance of the stone. For example, opals should be polished regularly with a soft cloth and room temperature soap and water. Opal engagement ring owners should also avoid soaking the stone in water or chemical solutions, as these can cause the layers of the opal to separate.

More importantly, these stones should not be left anywhere they can be exposed to the elements, and again this includes things as common as open windows or radiators. Opal owners living in dry climates also need to make sure the stone is permanently hydrated, preferably with a piece of cotton inside a sealed plastic bag.

It is measures like these that lead engagement ring designers to consider opal a poor choice for a ring stone. However, customers who think they can handle the care that a stone of this type requires are most pleased with its high luster and its visually attractive colors.

How to clean diamond rings at home safely

Little secrets of sparkling jewelry:

When I look at my diamond, the top looks shiny and brilliant, but the sides are a little dirty. Like any expensive diamond ring that costs quite a bit, it comes with a warranty that includes regular cleaning. So I used it once. I went straight to the diamond exchange, waited in line, took pictures, asked for ID and a very long story to write here.

A black opal direct expert in jewelry told me the secret, you don't need to run to the store to clean a sparkling and shiny ring - you can do it yourself at home.

Unlike silver, gold does not tarnish and tarnish over time. However, gold can still accumulate impurities with daily use. To restore the luster of expensive diamond rings, bracelets, necklaces and other gold jewelry, you can do the following:

1-Cleaning Opal and Diamond Ring with soap:

Pour a few drops of dishwashing liquid into a bowl or cup of warm (not boiling) water and stir gently. Regular tap water will work, but you can use soda water for better results. Do not use boiling water, especially if the jewelry contains precious stones and quarries, such as opal stones, which can crack due to rapid and extreme temperature changes.

Soak the gold jewelry in the solution for about 15 minutes. During soaking, hot water and soap will find their way into cracks and crevices and remove dirt that is difficult to remove by hand.

Remove the Opal Gemstone and gently brush it with a toothbrush. Scrub each piece individually, paying special attention to hidden corners where dirt may be hiding. Use a very soft brush - the softer the better. Hard bristles can scratch the surface of the jewelry. If the piece of jewelry is gold-plated (as opposed to pure gold), particularly hard bristles can even completely remove the gold layer. Special brushes designed for this purpose are best, but most soft, squishy brushes (such as eyebrow brushes) will work.

Then wash each piece with warm running water. Additional washing with running water will help remove dirt that was not caught on the brush. Again, make sure the water is not too hot. If washing jewelry is done in the sink, make sure you put something down to block the drain. That way, you won't accidentally lose your jewelry if it slips out of your hands. Alternatively, you can wash the jewelry in a colander.

Finally, dry the jewelry with a soft cloth and let it air dry on a towel before wearing it again. If the jewelry is still wet, it creates a moisture trap on the skin, which can lead to irritation.

2- Cleaning jewelry with toothpaste:

Mix a small amount of toothpaste with water (for every inch of toothpaste in a bowl or palm, mix a tablespoon or two of water to make a paste). Toothpaste is good at removing dirt that has built up on gold jewelry without scratching it. This method of cleaning does not wear down the jewelry and can therefore be used frequently, for quick cleaning or when other cleaning agents are not available.

Gently rub in the toothpaste mixture with a soft-bristled brush. If there are scratches on the jewelry, it is probably caused by the toothbrush and not the ointment. Use the softest brush possible. Alternatively, you can simply apply toothpaste without diluting with water. But this method can be more difficult to clean small cracks in jewelry.

Finally, wash the jewelry thoroughly to remove accumulated dirt.

3- Using boiling water:

As mentioned earlier, one needs to know when cleaning in boiling water is appropriate. Pure gold can be boiled without any problems. However, cooking delicate gemstones (such as enhanced clarity diamonds, opals, pearls, corals, and clear stones) can crack and destroy them. Especially if the jewelry has a low temperature before boiling. Boiling is also not good for jewelry with glued gems, as it can loosen the glue. If the goal is to clean solid gold jewelry or gold jewelry with "strong" gemstones (like diamonds, not high clarity diamonds), cleaning with boiling water is an excellent choice.

It is not necessary to boil a lot of water to "drown" all the jewelry. You can cook them in a small gas pot or other utensils that won't be damaged by water (eg mug, pyrex dish or metal). It is important to take care not to place the jewelry on top of each other, as the water should reach each piece of jewelry. So make sure the tool is the right size.

Wait for the water to cool. When you can submerge your hands in the water, it's time to remove your jewelry. Scrub each piece with a soft brush, then dry them on a soft towel and let them air dry completely.

Don't worry if the water looks dirty - that's a good sign! When the boiling water loosens the dirt that has accumulated on the jewelry, it can float to the surface of the water. The appearance of dirty water, promising clean jewelry!
