These Oriental necklaces such as Carnelian, Colored Glaze, Crystal, Jade, and Pearl are available for a various amount of prices as is any other product online. If your looking for good quality you can check out the sites below and see what turns up. I've heard nothing but good reviews from these sites, so they can be trusted!

- AsianPearlsNet - This site has products like Lavender jade, black pearls, turquoise and coral and much more.

I couldn't find too many sites that had a lot of options for the Carnelian or Colored so here are some below that have a lot of really nice options to take a look at.

ToPearl

Topearl is a really nice site, please check this one out. They sell by the bulk so I won't be buying anything from them any time soon! But still, the craftsmanship is apparent. I might even go and try to find some of the items listed on that site available on other sites for single pieces since I liked them so much! On a side note if your searching for more info about Oriental, Asian, or Chinese culture there are also some other sites you can look on but, I always like to recommend Wikipedia since this site is a "book of knowledge." Anything and everything you want to know, you will find on this site!

For instance did you know that the first people to start making jewelry were the Chinese, 5000 years ago?!? Here's a little tidbit I found on Wiki that was really interesting about Jade Jewelry:

"Opal Rings designs were very religion-orientated and contained Buddhist symbols, a fact which remains to this day.

The Chinese used silver in their jewelery more often than gold, and decorated it with their favorite color, blue. Blue kingfisher feathers were tied onto early Chinese jewelery and later, blue gems and glass were incorporated into designs. However, Chinese preferred jade over any other stone. They fashioned it using diamonds. The Chinese revered jade because of the human-like qualities they assigned to it, such as its hardness, durability and beauty. The first jade pieces were very simple, but as time progressed, more complex designs evolved. Jade rings from between the 4th and 7th centuries BCE show evidence of having been worked with a compound milling machine; hundreds of years before the first mention of such equipment in the west."

How to Care for Opal Jewelry: Advice from Jewelry Designer, Opal Miner, Opal Cutter and Polisher

Today one of my clients who had bought a $ 1,000 opal ring from me told me that her friends had told her to keep her opal ring in a crowd of pure mineral oil.

Hmmm! Please, do not do that. I have also heard many other tips such as keeping your opals in water, vinegar, and other solutions. Greasing the soluble oil in them is another bad thing I have heard given as advice.

Twelve years ago I spent about three months with George Roberts cutting and assembling gemstones to make a living as he had been doing for so long.

The result? Nothing happened to the opals! Or, at least to the extent I could see.

The mines are usually dry and the temperature is good. Opals have been around like that for millions and millions of years so why should anyone think they need to be oiled or other solution?

As an opal cutter I can tell you what I was taught to do. To cut the opal you need to put it on a pole so that you can hold the grinding wheel. We heat the opal lightly and add hot wax and push the stick and opal together. After cutting we put the opal in the fridge for a few hours so that the wax and opal contract different and separate.

1. Keep it separate from your other jewelry so that it does not scratch.

2. Rinse occasionally with a soft brush, perhaps a soft toothbrush mixed with warm water and a very soft cleanser. Then wash and dry slightly with a damp cloth but do not rub dry.

3. If your opals are doublet or inlays stored in a glue area then wash them only if necessary.

4. Do not bother to put any solutions to your opals as anything you use will get into the stone and can seriously damage what is good.

Opal - Fire & Beauty: What to Look For When Buying Opal Jewelery

Opal is a myth! These beautiful gemstones have been around since ancient times due to their beautiful play of color and opalescence, but these gems have a reputation for being unpopular. So why is this? I want to explain more about this gem, my particular favorite!

Even the word refers to beauty, as it means 'precious stone' and comes from the Latin 'Opalus', or the Sanskrit 'upalas'. It is the birthstone of people born in October. It also appears as a Zodiac stone for those born under Virgo, Libra, and Scorpio, and is a stone to celebrate 13 years of marriage.

Most of the quality opals are mined in Australia. Opals are made of liquid silica that flows through space or space and cools, thus creating unusual conditions, such as wood, sea shells and even dinosaur bones! This also means that opals have a relatively high water content, about 10%. For this reason they should never be allowed to dry. Be especially careful of medium heat radiators, or direct sunlight. I think it's best to keep them in a jewelry box or case when you're not wearing them. Cleansers can also affect them so you can wash them while wearing them! Not all opal is a quality gem, but those that often need to be treated to be more attractive and secure in suspension. Opal stones can be man-made (which may be synthesized or modified in some way) and thus one can find many types of opal that are automatically produced. So you need to be careful when choosing opal stone jewelry. A man made of opal is sometimes called doublets or triplets. A doublet is a small piece of real opal paper attached to a dark place, for example a piece of black onyx stone. Triplets are actually double-lined with clear glass, or quartz capping, and plastic or stone back. Double opal is more important than triplet because it contains more stones. Triplets are good because they are cheaper than a full stone while they look more attractive for half the cost. They are best found in rings, bracelets and necklaces. Silver necklaces seem to be the most appropriate. Costume jewelry usually contains triplets.

Opal ring is a stone of protection, loyalty and trust. It is said that it can improve perception and intelligence. Unexplained gems of high vibration. Therefore, they may have a wider spectrum of physical activity and higher levels of presence. Some say that opal is able to absorb thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Connected to the eye.

Mainly because of superstition, opal was considered unfortunate. It is believed that opal could give its master an invisible power - and thus gained a notoriety as a thief amulet. In ancient times opal was generally unpopular because of its resemblance to the eyes of "evil" animals. Therefore, this beautiful stone was used for the fear of the "Evil Eye". However, some, like the Romans, thought that it provided protection for them, so do what you love! In my opinion, it seems shameful to let superstition prevent you from enjoying this lovely gem, so why not check out my website, to find some great examples for sale at select retailers.

The beauty of the opal becomes more profound when we think it can give us these things.

The centerpiece is the major consideration when choosing a fine opal ring. Your personal style and preference will be the ultimate deciding factor why you will choose black, fire, blue over white or boulder. Just remember that the stone should be blazing with colors.

Diamonds have 4Cs, so do opals. Similarly, they are graded four ways, according to colors, shape, pattern and clarity (diamonds have color, carat, clarity and cut). However, shape, pattern and colors are not really major factors in purchasing a gemstone because a buyer will exercise his personal choice most of the time. Oftentimes, we choose our favorite shape, color and patterns of opalescence regardless of what jewelers would suggest. But, you cannot ignore how clarity factors in. Bear in mind that inadequate clarity will mean unimpressive color play and ultimately, these stones will make unappealing opal rings.

For would be fiancs, if you are eyeing an opal engagement ring, you are thinking right! They are splendid as engagement rings. Just make sure you select an opal that includes your loved one's favorite colors.

Choose gemstones with domed tops to intensify the color and clarity. As stressed before, only opals with superb clarity will do if you want a fantastic ring.

When you find the right opal, the next thing to do is finding the complementing metal setting. Here are some general guidelines:

- If you have black opals, best to set them in silver-like toned metals such as white gold, platinum and sterling silver.

- If you have white opals, yellow gold is a fantastic setting.

- If you have boulder opals, yellow or white gold will look great as settings.

How to Choose the Perfect Opal Rings

Opal rings are one of the most striking types of opal jewelry. They have long been known for their remarkable opalescence and the amazing diversity of colors. They have been regarded as fortune-tellers who can give a great deal of power to the wearer who combines beauty, success and happiness as well as the ability to predict and foresight. And they symbolize hope and purity too. But their beauty, which makes opal rings a perfect gift.

If you are looking for the best opal necklace you need to first focus on finding the right gem for the centerpiece. This can be very difficult because there are a variety of gemstones but whether you choose black, white, rock, fire, jelly or other opal, the most important thing is to look at the light of the inner fire.

Like diamonds, opals are organized in four ways according to their pattern, color, shape, and clarity. Without clarity, which should be good, these sections are actually descriptive sections that can be interpreted responsibly. After all everyone will pick up a stone of a different shape with different colors and patterns of their favorite opalescence! But the best opals all have a strong and impressive color scheme. Precious gemstones and soft-colored games do not create attractive rings.

Some opals show a variety of colors including blue, green, purple and light red and orange. And while many people believe that the best gemstones have a very wide range of play colors, this is also very popular. The power and vibration of colors make a beautiful opal. This means that you can choose a gemstone with a bright blue and green match than one with many colors but not healthy.

And if you choose someone else's opal ring, say with an engagement ring, try choosing a gem that incorporates their favorite colors in its color match.

The best opal rings have cabochon gems shaped at the top in place to enhance color and make full use of their clarity. Amazing clarity is important because any sand particles inserted can ruin the opalescence of a gemstone and with it, the appearance of a ring.

Once you have found your perfect opal, make sure it is properly set into a precious metal setting. The ring will look great if you choose a metal color that matches the color of the base stone. Black opal rings always look great when made of white gold, silver or platinum but white opals and stones can look beautiful with white or yellow metal depending on how the color is played within the gemstone itself.

Finding the perfect opal for your ring can take a lot of effort. However, the result is worth it!

* 1 POPPY 18KT YELLOW GOLD & DIAMOND AUSTRALIAN WHITE OPAL NECKLACE

Opal rings have been famous throughout history for their stunning display of vibrant colors and patterns. Many cultures in the ancient world considered them to be extraordinary charms and fortune-tellers. Even today, opal rings are highly desirable because of their unique beauty and elegance. This type of jewelry is perfect for gifts as each opal is natural, unusual, and unique. If you are looking for one, you will definitely want to know how to find the right one for your needs, budget, and preferences. Here are a few things to keep in mind in your quest for the perfect opal ring.

Opals are organized into four main components: their patterns, colors, shapes, and clarity.

Each opal ring has its own distinctive pattern of circular colors hidden inside a stone and removed when exposed to light. While a certain pattern that looks good on you depends on what you like, there is one thing you should look for no matter what, and that is wise. High quality opal rings will have bold, shiny, and beautiful patterns. If the pattern looks weak, the ring will not be as good as it could be.

Many people feel that the more colors are shown as an opal ring, the better the jewelry. This is not really the case, though. Many of the best models show only two colors, but show firmness. If the person you intend to buy is a favorite colored opal ring, try to make sure that this is expressed richly and boldly.

The best opal rings have central areas with a dome shape. This gives more light than a flat cut stone. Flat cuts are best used as inlays to emphasize the center of the ring rather than the base itself.

The clarity of the opal ring is very important. Smaller sand particles are often trapped in opal rocks, and if large enough they can damage the surface or interior of the stone. This will completely ruin the beauty of the ring, and reduce its value.

A complete opal ring will also have a nice setting. The most popular options for this are gold and white gold. This depends on the color of the opal, so the case should be decided on the basis. As a general rule of thumb, removing the color of the band material with opal color will draw more attention to the ring, helping it to stand out and be visible. For example, it is very common to see black opal rings with white gold.

Finally, finding the perfect opal ring is all about patience and knowledge. Knowing how to choose the highest quality opal will get you a lot of options there, but you still have to make an effort to get it. Do not give up, and never allow anything to go wrong!

The Unique and Vibrant World of Opals

If boring and milky-white is what comes to mind when you think of an opal, think again. Sure there are some stones that are more sedate and subtle in their fire, but there are also some that will set you on fire with their brilliance. Opal rings are a truly unique gemstone. Really! No two are alike in pattern and color. You can confidently say that no one else has an opal pendant like the one you have.

History and Legend

This gemstone got its name because of its iridescent-looking qualities. Opal is derived from the Greek word "Opallus" and the Latin word "Opalus." Respectively, these words mean to see color changes and precious stone. As with many gemstones, folklore attaches mystical-like powers to the opal. Ancient Greeks believed it gave a person the ability to see and predict the future. Others believed the opal helped ward off the ills of aging. If it does help, why not slip on an opal ring or an opal bracelet? It certainly couldn't hurt!

Origin and Chemistry

Opals primarily come from Australia. In fact, nearly 95% of the world's supply comes from the four major mines in Australia. A smattering of stones comes from Mexico, Brazil, Nevada and Idaho.

Opals are extremely soft and delicate. Their make-up is actually a silica gel, which is what forms when silica is introduced to water. Opals hold water and about 6-10% of their composition is water. Because of its flexible state, it grows wherever there is space and takes the shape of that space. Because it is so soft- a 5.5 on the Mohs scale, an opal ring is less practical, certainly for everyday wear. An opal pendant holds up better because there is less chance of knocking it and scratching it through wear.

Birthstone and Types

This unique and delicate gemstone happens to be the birthstone for October. There are a myriad of colors and styles to choose from in celebration of your birthday or someone else's. For a bold piece of birthstone jewelry, you can put together a black opal and diamond bracelet with black opal diamond earrings. The black opal is the boldest of the types because the black serves as a wonderful contrast to the blues, greens, reds and yellows. However, it is also the hardest to find and therefore, quite expensive.

Instead of investing in a strand of pearls, why not look at white opal and diamond pendants. They are just as classic, but also unexpected and beautiful. White opals are not as bold as the black, but they are just as pretty. Instead of bright and vibrant, the colors come across as soft and pastel.

In between the black and white lay the semi-black and the light opals with varying shades of bright and pastel colors. The crystal opal has no color- not black or white. It is clear and only color you see is the fire, the diffraction of light.

Whatever piece of opal jewelry you choose, take care of it. An opal ring makes a great family heirloom, but not if it is scratched or cracked. Follow your jewelers cleaning instructions so that your opal jewelry lasts for generations to come.

Opal Jewelry - Why is It So Special?

Opal Jewelry can be made into many different opal jewelry items. Of course, we all know that there are opal ornaments, opal rings, opal earrings and so on, but opal, unlike other stones like diamonds and rubies etc., can be made into special types of jewelry.

There is a variety of opal from Australia called Koroit and this is a less attractive type of stone compared to the Australian Black Opal. It is mainly a reddish, dark brown convex with opal tails running randomly in its center. The designer will not be able to do much with what you can think of, but simply drill a hole in it and attach a high chain or cheap leather cord and make an excellent necklace and look good for both men and women.

Then there is the boulder opal that usually comes as a piece of opal that is naturally attached to a piece of ironstone or sandstone. The opal is flexible and may not have the fire associated with gem quality opal but on closer inspection it has a pattern that may look like a seascape or look at a mountain range or all sorts of other objects. It can be the kind of thing you like to stare at and imagine seeing all sorts of things inside. Try making that diamond! The beauty of an episode like this is that it is not gem quality and not very expensive.

I love such jewelry because it is not cheap to buy but when you wear it people ask questions about it and want to take a closer look. It is a good start to a conversation. You will never find people asking you if they can look at your topaz ring. They never said: "Wow, where did you get that ring?" But with a $ 40 cheap Koroit necklace or Boulder Opal you will find strangers asking what kind of stone it is and where it comes from.

Then there is one of my favorite Opal Inlay Jewelry. Fine crystal opal pieces are set in metal rings, earrings and hangings. The opal is finished by striking the surrounding metal. We often see this with boring stones like Onyx and other mineral-looking minerals that are very light in color. However, when making inlay opal jewelry you will usually use high quality opal and the results are good.

You can place almost any other precious stone next to the opal and it will enhance the piece of jewelry. Opals with diamond markings will always look stunning. In contrast, you can have a pink topaz or emerald-colored stone with opal inlay on each side and have shiny jewelry. Opal rings can be inlayed, prong set or bezel set. They can be attached to an area where, like other gems, they will not look impressive in this way.

Another comforting feature of opal jewelry is that the stone will be mined by lonely men or groups of husband and wife living under difficult conditions in rural Australia. There are no large companies involved and no forced labor here. It is a work of love. Think of the cutting of rubies and other stones that children often have to take to school. I am an opal cutter and although it is very difficult to work I enjoy doing it and I have never met an opal cutter who has no love for opals so there is a kind of love attached to these stones from the underground man. in the middle for a woman or a fan to cut and polish the stone carefully.

Custom Gemstone Engagement Rings - Meaning Behind the Beauty

Opal Rings are one of those important steps in a relationship that truly connects two people for the future. To make a special moment even more memorable that can not only express the feelings two people may have for one another, there is always the option to get custom gemstone engagement rings, which are perfectly designed to express a special message in a very subtle way.

There are many common gemstones that have a particular meaning in history, which is one of the reasons they are so popular and sought after for jewelry and designs. Before planning a set of custom gemstone engagement rings, consider the meaning behind each common gemstone.

Finding the Perfect Opal Ring

Opal rings have been famous throughout history for their amazing display of colors and brilliant patterns. Many cultures in the ancient world regarded them as luxurious charms of fortune and good tidings. Even to this day, opal rings are highly desired for their unique beauty and elegance. This kind of jewelry is perfect for gifts since each opal is natural, rare, and unique. If you're looking for one, you're bound to be curious as to how to find the one that's perfect for your needs, budget, and tastes. Here are a few things to keep in mind in your quest for a perfect opal ring.

Finding the perfect opal ring depends on finding a high quality stone to use as the centerpiece. Opals are graded on four primary attributes: their patterns, colors, shape, and clarity.

Each opal ring has its own distinct patterns of swirling colors hidden within the stone and released when exposed to light. While the particular pattern that looks best to you is up to your own tastes, there is one thing that you should be looking for regardless, and that is brilliance. High quality opal rings will have patterns that are bold, brilliant, and beautiful. If the pattern seems weak, the ring will not be as good as it could be.

Many people feel that the more colors there are represented in an opal ring, the better the jewelry is. This is not necessarily true, however. Many of the best models only show two colors, but show them strongly. If the person you intend to buy the opal ring for has a favorite color, try to make sure that this is represented both richly and boldly.

The best opal rings have centerpieces which are dome shaped. This provides much more brilliance than a flat cut stone. Flat cuts are better used as inlays to accentuate the center of the ring than as the centerpiece themselves.

The clarity of an opal ring is absolutely crucial. Small sand particles often get stuck in opal stones, and if they are big enough they can mar the surface or interior of the stone. This will absolutely ruin the overall aesthetic of the ring, and detract from its value.

The perfect opal ring will also have a fantastic setting. The most popular choices for this are gold and white gold. This depends on the colors of the opal, so it must be decided on a case by case basis. As a general rule of thumb, offsetting the color of the band material with the color of the opal will draw more attention to the ring, helping it to stand out and be noticed. For instance, it's more common to see black opal rings with white gold.

In the end, finding the perfect opal ring is all about perseverance and knowledge. Knowing how to choose a high quality opal will get you most of the way there, but you still need to put forth the effort to discover it. Don't lose heart, and never settle for anything short of perfection!
